Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), a statutory body under the administrative control of Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, Govt. of India responsible for activities in the field of Standardization, Product and System Certification, Hallmarking of Gold/Silver Jewellery, Laboratory Testing etc., in the country, offers excellent career opportunities to bright, young, dynamic personnel & invites applications for recruitment to the posts of SCIENTIST-‘B’, The total number of vacancies is 115 in various disciplines as per details given below:

• Mechanical /Metallurgy – Total 61 Posts 
• Food / Microbiology / Bio-Chemistry – Total 17 Posts 
• Computer Science / Computer Engineering – Total 03 Posts 
• Electrical / Electronics – Total 12 Posts 
• Civil – total 22 Posts 

Out of 115 vacancies of SCIENTIST-‘B’, 17 vacancies are reserved for Scheduled Castes
(SC), 9 vacancies are reserved for Scheduled Tribes (ST) and 32 vacancies are reserved for Other Backward Classes (OBC).

Qualification: Master’s / Bachelor’s Degree in Natural Sciences | Engineering | Technology or equivalent with not less than 60% marks (50% for SC/ST candidates) in aggregate

Age Limits: The candidates must be between 21-27 years of age as on 9th September 2011. Relaxation in upper age limit for SC/ST/OBC/PWD/Ex-Servicemen etc. shall be as per Central Government.

Pay Scale: Rs. 15600-39100+Grade Pay Rs. 5400 plus allowances as applicable.

Application Fee: The application fee is Rs. 750/- (No Fee for SC/ST/PWD/EXs/Women Candidates) Non-Refundable. The payment of the fee shall be through National Electronic Funds Transfer (NEFT) mode only. For remittance of fee through electronic mode, candidates have to visit any Bank for depositing the fee through NEFT mode.
