Birbal Sahni Institute of Palaeobotany (BSIP), an Autonomous Institute under the Department of Science & Technology, Government of India, BSIP has invited Application in the prescribed Performa from the persons of Indian Nationality for the Posts of Scientist “D”, “C”, & “B”, Details are as given:

• Scientist “D”:  01 Post UR {Pay Scale: PB-3 Rs. 15600-39100 + GP Rs.7600} Essential Qualifications: M Sc in Geology or Geophysics or Physics with 65% marks, 10 years research experience in Geo-chronology. OR Ph D in relevant discipline with specialization in Geo-chronology, 7 years Post-Doctoral research experience in Geo-chronology. 

• Scientist “C”: 01 Post UR {Pay Scale: PB-3 Rs. 15600-39100 + GP Rs.6600} Essential Qualifications: M Sc in Geology or Geophysics or Physics with 65% marks, 7 years research experience in Geo-chronology. OR Ph D in relevant discipline with specialization in Geo-chronology, 4 years Post-Doctoral research experience in Geo-chronology. 

• Scientist “B”: 01 Post SC {Pay Scale: PB-3 Rs.15600-39100 + GP Rs.5400} Essential Qualifications: M Sc in Geology or Geophysics or Physics with 65% marks, 3 years research experience in Geo-chronology OR Ph D in relevant discipline with specialization in Geo-chronology 

• Scientist “B”: 01 Post PH {Pay Scale: PB-3 Rs.15600-39100 + GP Rs.5400} Essential Qualifications: M Sc in Botany or Geology with 65% marks, 3 years research experience in Paleontology including Palynology (Precambrian Palaeobiology/Gondwana Megafossils & Palynology/Cenozoic Mega-fossils and Palynology/ Quaternary Palynology/Marine Micropalaeobotany/ Organic Petrology/ Hydrocarbon Exploration). OR PhD in relevant discipline with specialization in Palaeobotany.

• Scientist “B”: 07 Posts (OBC: 2; UR: 5) {Pay Scale: PB-3 Rs.15600-39100 + GP Rs. 5400} Essential Qualifications: M Sc in Botany or Geology with 65% marks, 3 years research experience in Palaeobotany including Palynology. (Precambrian Palaeobiology/Gondwana Megafossils and Palynology/Cenozoic Megafossils and Palynology/ Quaternary Palynology/ Marine Micropalaeobotany /Organic Petrology/ Hydrocarbon Exploration). OR Ph D in relevant discipline with specialization in Palaeobotany. 

Age Limits: 45 years for Scientist ‘D’, 40 years for Scientist ‘C’ and 35 years for Scientists ‘B’ as on September 02, 2011
