The University of Hyderabad, a premier institution of post graduate teaching and research in the country, was established by an Act of Parliament (Act No. 39 of 1974) on 2nd October, 1974 as a Central University, Wholly financed by the University Grants Commission. The "objects of the University" as envisaged in the Act are:" to disseminate and advance knowledge by providing instructional and research facilities in such branches of learning as it may deem fit and by the example of its corporate life, and in particular to make special provisions for integrated courses in humanities and science in the educational programmes of the University and to take appropriate measures for promoting inter-disciplinary studies and research in the University." 

Applications are invited on a plain paper (along with copies of educational qualifications and experience) from eligible candidates for selection of Research Fellows under the project entitled “Exploring the Carbon Sequestration Potential in Tree species” (funded by Department of Biotechnology, New Delhi) sanctioned to Professor Attipalli R. Reddy, Department of Plant Sciences, University of Hyderabad. 
  • Junior Research Fellow: 01 Post; Pay Scale: Rs. 12,000/- P.M. + HRA (30%) for first two years and Rs. 14,000/- p.m. for third to 5th year plus HRA (30%); Qualifications: M.Sc. in Plant Sciences/ Botany/ Biochemistry/Biotechnology/Biosciences/ Life Sciences or other allied subjects with First division and NET or GATE qualified; Duration: Appointments are made for one year initially and can be extended until the duration of the project 
  • Senior Research Fellow: 01 Post; Pay Scale: Rs 14,000/-P.M.+ 30%HRA; Qualifications: M.Sc. in Plant Sciences/ Botany/ Biochemistry/Biotechnology/Biosciences/ Life Sciences or other allied subjects with First division and NET or GATE qualified; Duration: Appointments are made for one year initially and can be extended until the duration of the project
