The Bureau of Police Research and Development (BPR&D) was set up on 28th August 1970 in furtherance of the objective of the Government of India for the modernization of police forces. It has evolved as a multifaceted, consultancy organization. At present it has 5 divisions.
Has invited Applications for Filling up of one post of Senior Scientific Assistant (Weapons), Group ‘B’ Non-Gazetted, Non-Ministerial in the Bureau of Police Research & Development, New Delhi on deputation basis (including short term contract)/ Deputation or Re-employment for Armed Forces Personnel

Senior Scientific Assistant (Weapons)
Scale of Pay:
PB-2 Rs. 9300-34800/- plus Grade Pay Rs. 4,200/
Eligibility   : 
Officers under the Central/State Government /Union Territories /recognised Research Institutions/Autonomous Organisations.
(a)   (i) Holding analogous posts on regular basis in  the parent cadre or department;                            
OR
(ii) with three  years’  service in the grade  rendered after appointment thereto on regular
basis in the scale of pay of PB-2  Rs.9300-34,800 plus Grade Pay Rs. 4200/-  (in Central
Government pre-revised pay scale Rs. 5000-8000/- and  in respect of State Government,
other organisation etc.) or equivalent in the parent cadre or department;
OR
(iii) with six years’  service in the grade  rendered after appointment thereto on regular basis
in the scale of pay of PB-1  Rs.5200-20,200 plus Grade Pay Rs. 2800/-  (in Central Government pre-revised pay scale Rs. 4500-7000/- and  in respect of State Government,
other organisation etc.) or equivalent in the parent cadre or  department; and 
OR
(iv) with ten years’  service in the grade  rendered after appointment thereto on regular basis
in the scale of pay of PB-1  Rs.5200-20,200 plus Grade Pay Rs. 2400/-  (in Central
Government pre-revised pay scale Rs. 4000-6000/- and  in respect of State Government,
other organisation etc.) or equivalent in the parent cadre or  department; and 
(b) Possessing Educational Qualification and Experience:  
Essential
(i) Master’s degree in applied Physics from a recognised University or equivalent.
OR
(ii) Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university/institute or
equivalent.
Desirable 
Two years experience in the field of designing weapons or in the manufacture of tear gas
devices/explosives/firearms/ammunitions.
