Indian Navy Invites Application from Young Unmarried Men & Women to Join the Indian Navy As Short Service Commissioned Officers as Pilot / Observer for Course Commencing June 2012

• Name of the Position – Pilot (For Unmarried Man) 
• Name of the Position – Observer (For Unmarried Men & Women) 

Type of Commission: Short Service Commission (Granted for a term of 10 years, extendable to 14 years, subject to service requirements and performance/willingness of the candidate) 

Pay Scale: The Pay Scale & Promotion criteria are as given below: 

• Sub Lieutenant: Pay Band-3: Rs. 15600-39100; Grade Pay: Rs. 5400; MSP: 6000 + other allowances 
• Lieutenant: Pay Band-3: Rs. 15600-39100; Grade Pay: Rs.6100; MSP: 6000 + other allowances 
• Lieutenant CDR: Pay Band-3: Rs. 15600-39100; Grade Pay: Rs. 6600; MSP: 6000 + other allowances 
• Commander: Pay Band-4: Rs. 37400-67000; Grade Pay: Rs. 8000; MSP: 6000 + other allowances 

Age Limits: Candidates must be 19 to 23 years born between 02 July 1989 and 01 July 1993 both dates inclusive 

Essential Qualifications: Candidates must be Graduate in any Discipline with minimum 60% marks & should have qualified Mathematics & Physics at the at 10+2 level (Candidates with Backlog OR not completed their Graduation Or Appearing need not to Apply) 

Physical Standards: (A) Height & Weight: Men – 162.5 cms; & Women – 152 cms with co related weight, leg length, sitting height and thigh length. (B) Eye-Sight: With 6/6, 6/9 co related to 6/6, 6/6 (should not be colour/night/blind) There will be no relaxation in physical standards. 

Selection Process: Selection of the Candidates will be done on the basis of Performance in the Degree Certificate and Interview based on Service Selection Board (SSB) which will be scheduled at Bhopal, Bangalore, and Coimbatore in February to May 2012
