Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is conducting a Geologist’s Examination 2011 in December 2011 for Posts in the Geological Survey of India, Ministry of Mines & Central Ground Water Board, Minestry of Water Resources as per the Advertisement Notification No. 12/2011-GEOL , Details for the Posts are Given here:
  • Geologist Group “A” – Total 300 Posts {In Geological Survey of India, Ministry of Mines) {Essential Qualification: Master’s degree in Geological Science or Geology or Applied Geology or Geo-Exploration OR Mineral Exploration OR Engineering Geology OR Marine Geology OR Earth Science OR Resource Management Or Oceanography Coast Area Studies OR Petroleum Geo-Science OR Geochemistry from a Recognized University. 
  • Jr. Hydrologist (Scientist B) Group “A” – Total 07 Posts (In Central Ground Water Board, Ministry of Water Resources) {Essential Qualification: Master’s degree in Geology or Applied Geology OR Marine Geology from a recognized University.
  • Assistant Hydrologists Group “B” – Total 30 Posts (In Central Ground Water Board, Ministry of Water Resources) {Essential Qualification: Master’s degree in Geology or Applied Geology OR Marine Geology From a recognized University. 
Nationality/Citizens: Citizen of India or (ii) A subject of Nepal or (iii) A subject of Bhutan or (iv) A Tibetan Refugee (v) A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

Age Limit: Eligible Candidates must be between 21 to 32 years as on 01/01/2011 for all above posts (See Detailed Advertisement for Age Relaxation Rules).

Application Fee: Non-refundable fee of Rs.200/- for GEN/OBC Candidates (No Fee for SC/ST/PH/EXS candidates) shall be paid through Central Recruitment Fee Stamps (CRFS) available at all designated Head Post Offices / Post Offices, OR Shall be paid through Bank Challan Form in any branch of State Bank of India (SBI) OR by cash/net Banking / Visa / Master Credit / Debit Card etc.
