The Institute of Bioresources and Sustainable Development (IBSD) is one of the autonomous institutes under the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology, Govt. of India. The objective of IBSD is to develop and utilize the rich bioresources of the Northeastern Region of the country through the application of modern tools of biology and biotechnology. Currently the Institute has its Headquarters in Imphal, Manipur and a Regional Centre in Gangtok, Sikkim. The institute invites application for the following posts in its Headquarters at Imphal and Regional Centre at Gangtok: 

POSTS IN IBSD HEADQUARTERS AT IMPHAL, MANIPUR 

• Scientist – E: (Plant Biotechnology/Plant Molecular Biology): 01 Post | Pay Scale: Rs. 37400-67000+GP 8700 | Age Limits: 55 years | Essential Qualification: 1st class M.Sc. in Plant Biotechnology /Horticulture / Life Sciences/ biotechnology or equivalent with specialization in plant molecular biology/plant genomics/ phytocellular technology having at least eleven years research experience or Ph.D. in the above subjects with at least ten years research experience. 
• Scientist – E: (Natural Product Chemistry): 01 post | Pay Scale: Rs. 37400-67000+GP 8700 | Age Limits: 55 years | Essential Qualification: 1st class M.Sc. in Biochemistry / Phytochemistry / Organic Chemistry or equivalent with specialization in natural product chemistry having at least eleven years research experience or PhD in the above subjects with at least ten years research experience. 
• Scientist – E: (Aquaculture): 01 Post | Pay Scale: Rs. 37400-67000+GP 8700 | Age Limits: 55 years | Essential Qualification: 1st class M.Sc. in Fishery Sciences/Zoology or equivalent with specialization in aquaculture with at least eleven years research experience or Ph.D. in the above subjects with at least ten years research experience. 
• Scientist – C: (Natural Product Chemistry): 01 Post | Pay Scale: Rs. 15600-39100+GP 6600 | Age Limits: 35 years | Essential Qualification: 1st class M.Sc. in Biochemistry / Phytochemistry/Organic Chemistry or equivalent with specialization in natural product chemistry having at least five years research experience or Ph.D in the above subjects with at least four years research experience. 
• Scientist – C: (Economic Entomology): 01 Post | Pay Scale: Rs. 15600-39100+GP 6600 | Age Limits: 35 years | Essential Qualification: 1st class M.Sc. in Life Sciences / Zoology / Entomology or equivalent with specialization in economic Entomology having at least five years research experience or Ph.D. in the above subjects with at least four years research experience. 
• Stores and Purchase Officer (on contractual basis): 01 Post | Pay Scale: Rs. 20,000/- P.M Consolidated | Age Limits: 40 years | Essential Qualification: Graduate degree (preferably in commerce) from a recognized University. Preference will be given to candidates with PG diploma in materials management with minimum 3-years experience in Government /autonomous bodies or an organization of repute. Candidates should be well versed with local and foreign purchase, import and export and also have analytical and good communication skill (oral and written) 

POSTS IN REGIONAL CENTRE OF IBSD AT GANGTOK, SIKKIM 

The IBSD has recently established its Regional Centre in Gangtok, Sikkim with an aim of sustainable development and utilization of bioresources of the Eastern Himalayas including generation of appropriate technology packages leading to development of bio-enterprises in the region. The institute invites applications for the following contractual positions in its Regional Centre in Gangtok, Sikkim: 

• Scientist – (Plant Bioresources): 01 Post | Pay scale: Rs. 48,000/- p.m. (Consolidated) | Age Limits: 50 years | Essential Qualification: 1st class M.Sc. with seventeen years experience or 1st class M.Tech. / MD / MVsc / M.Pharm / M.Biotech with sixteen years Research and Development experience or Ph.D. or corresponding degrees in relevant disciplines with original work as evidenced by patents or publications. Evidence of leadership with sixteen years or R&D experience. 
• Scientist – (Microbial Resources): 01 Post | Pay Scale: Rs. 30,000/- p.m. (Consolidated) | Age Limits: 35 years | Essential Qualification: 1st class M.Sc. in Life Sciences / Microbiology / Biotechnology with three years R&D experience or Ph.D. with one year post doctoral experience in the relevant field. 
• Administrative Officer: 01 Post | Pay Scale: Rs. 25,000/- p.m. (Consolidated) | Age Limits: 40 years | Essential Qualification: Graduate degree, preferably in commerce with Post Graduate Degree / Diploma in Administration or Human Resource Management with a minimum of 2 years experience in handling administration and personnel matters. 

Age Relaxation: Relaxation of age in respect of special categories/sports persons under Govt. of India notifications/guidelines will be applicable. 

Application Fee: Non-refundable fee of Rupees fifty only (PH/SC/ST candidates are exempted from the payment of application fee) payable in form of cross Demand Draft/IPO in favour of Director, IBSD, Imphal
